Actress Lindsay Lohan recently shared a heartwarming story about her son and her famous movie, “The Parent Trap.”
Lohan, known for movies like “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday,” doesn’t usually enjoy watching her own films. But seeing her young son captivated by her childhood work brought on a wave of emotions.
Mom on the Job
Lohan appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” and talked about her movie-watching habits. She said she doesn’t typically put on her own movies, even though there are many hits like “The Parent Trap,” which came out in 1998.
Lohan explained, “It’s just weird hearing my own voice. I’m like, ‘Eh.'” However, she’ll sometimes have a movie on in the background while doing chores around the house.
A Surprise Discovery
Everything changed when Lohan came home after a long day on set. Her son, still a baby at eight months old, was getting ready for dinner. As she walked into the room, she saw something unexpected on TV – it was “The Parent Trap”!
Lohan was instantly emotional. Here was her son, watching a movie she made as a child, completely unaware that the girl on the screen was his mom.
“I started crying,” Lohan said. “Because I’m like, he doesn’t even know that’s Mommy yet.”
A Mother-Son Moment
Lohan debated what to do. Should she turn the movie off? But her son seemed entranced, just staring at the screen. Maybe, she thought, he recognized her voice a little, even after all these years.
Lohan described the experience as “really magical.” She couldn’t resist capturing the moment and took a bunch of pictures of her son watching her younger self on TV.
Sharing Motherhood
Lohan also spoke about her experience as a new mom. She enjoys swapping stories and advice with her friend Aisha Curry, who is also a mom and the godmother of Lohan’s son.
Interestingly, Lohan says she actually felt a desire to have a child while filming her recent movie, “Irish Wish.” It seems like life has come full circle for the actress, who is now experiencing motherhood herself.
More Than Just a Movie
Lohan’s story is a sweet reminder of how movies can connect people across generations. Even a baby can be captivated by a story, and for Lohan, seeing her son watch her childhood film was a deeply personal experience. It brought back memories of her own acting journey and connected her to her new role as a mom.
The story also highlights the special bond between mothers and sons. Even though her son may not have known it was his mom on screen, there was still a connection there.
This heartwarming moment shows that Lindsay Lohan is not just a movie star, but also a loving and emotional mother.
