Maruti Suzuki Achieves Record-Breaking Quarterly Sales, Over 6 Lakh Units

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY2024-25, showing its best-ever quarterly sales. The company sold a total of 604,635 vehicles during the period from January to March 2025.

This big achievement is a 3.5% increase compared to the same three months last year. The strong performance happened because of demand in India and other countries. Sales in India reached 519,546 vehicles, a 2.8% rise, and sales to other countries went up to 85,089 vehicles, a very good 8.1% increase.

This record-breaking three months helped Maruti Suzuki have a successful year overall. For the whole FY2024-25, the company had its best-ever yearly sales and sales to other countries. Total sales for the year reached 2,234,266 vehicles, a 4.6% increase compared to the year before. Sales in India for the year were 1,901,681 vehicles (up 2.7%), while sales to other countries had a large increase of 17.5%, totaling 332,585 vehicles.

In terms of money, Maruti Suzuki also reported its best-ever yearly profit after all costs, which was ₹139,552 million, a 5.6% increase over the year before. The company’s total sales for FY2024-25 reached ₹1,451,152 million, a 7.5% increase.

However, even with the record sales, the company’s profit after all costs for the fourth quarter saw a small drop to ₹37,111 million, compared to ₹38,778 million in the same period last year. This small decrease happened because things cost more, there were expenses for the new Kharkhoda factory, higher costs to make things, rising prices of materials, and more money spent on advertising.

The company’s leaders have suggested a record payment to shareholders of ₹135 per share for FY2024-25, up from ₹125 per share last year. This shows the company wants to reward its owners.

Maruti Suzuki has also remained the top seller of passenger vehicles from India to other countries for the fourth year in a row, making up almost 43% of all passenger vehicle exports from the country. The company’s strong performance, especially in selling to other countries and in the SUV category, shows its strong position in the market and how it can change in the fast-moving car industry.
