Jason Mraz and his professional partner, Daniella Karagach, revealed that they have been battling an illness just days before their Taylor Swift Night performance.
In an Instagram Story on Monday, November 20, Karagach shared a video update with fans, admitting that she and Mraz have been “sick for the past week” and feeling “horrible.” She added that they were “pushing through” the illness and determined to “give it their all” on the dance floor.
Mraz, who appeared in the background of the video, looked visibly tired and leaned against a wall as Karagach spoke. Despite their physical condition, both dancers remained optimistic and assured their supporters that they would be there to perform on Tuesday night.
The duo is scheduled to dance an Argentine tango to one of Taylor Swift’s songs during the upcoming episode. They will also participate in a cha cha relay against fellow competitors Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev for extra points.
In a separate Instagram post, Mraz and Lawson hinted that they might be dancing to Swift’s song “Lavender Haze.” The post featured a photo of the two dancers smiling and pointing at a clock set to midnight, a reference to the song’s lyrics.
The official Dancing With the Stars account shared the photo and captioned it, “Meet @jason_mraz and @daniellakaragach on the #DWTS dance floor for their Cha Cha relay dance against @charitylawson and @theartemc for #DWTSxTaylorSwift.”
Mraz has been a fan favorite throughout his time on Dancing With the Stars, but this isn’t the first time he has made headlines during the competition. Earlier this week, he and fellow contestant Harry Jowsey cleared the air after rumors of a feud between them surfaced online.
